Footpath Upgrade

The footpath between the War Memorial and the Coffin Walk gate is overgrown and the surface uneven and broken up.  It is unsuitable for wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs, and for anyone with mobility problems.

This path is regularly used by residents and visitors between the old part of the Village and the bus stops, and between Overseas Estate, Leonards Cove and Blackpool sands and the Village Shop, the Green Dragon and the church.

The surface chosen is a resin bound surface that has a natural look in keeping with the churchyard.

Addagrip Terrabase Rustic has been used in numerous churchyards including Highgate cemetery.  The Friends of Highgate Trust explained:  ‘The reason I went for Addagrip was that we were looking for a path that looked as natural as gravel, but was as maintenance free as tarmac, and which would reduce run-off so we didn’t have to install a drainage network as well!'
